Rachel Khong and Ilona Hartmann about her bestseller »Real Americans«.
Rachel Khong is the author of Goodbye, Vitamin (2017, Holt), winner of the California Book Award for First Fiction. Real Americans (2024, Knopf), her second novel, was a New York Times bestseller. In 2018, Khong founded »The Ruby«, a work and event space for women and nonbinary writers and artists in San Francisco’s Mission District. With friends, she teaches creative writing as »The Dream Side«. She lives in Los Angeles.
Ilona Hartmann, freelance author and copywriter (most recently »klarkommen« 2024, Ullstein), who hosted the podcast »Und was machst Du am Wochenende?« for many years and currently hosts the show »Theoretisch Cool« on Radio Fritz.
